You have to fill out the W-2 sheet instead of answering questions. Many parts of this program do not have an intuitive make-up. To be able to use this program successfully, you should have some knowledge of tax laws, so this is not the best software for first-time filers. One advantage is that it verifies information you type in, so mistakes are minimized.
It is an online program so there is no need to download and install software. Just keep your login info in a safe place and you will be able to sign on in a matter of minutes.
However, this service gives very limited features. You will see a checklist of forms that need to be filled out and you should be able to file tax returns for all of the fifty states.
Even the help section is limited. ExpressTaxRefund only has a FAQs section, a tax guide and tax tools. And even these are not as extensive as a typical tax beginner would probably like. The only means of communication are by mail and telephone. ExpressTaxRefund charges you with several hidden and unexplained fees. You could end up being charged more than a hundred dollars for less than perfect service compared to other tax softwares.
